About Kelz the Artist

Since before I can remember, I've been drawing or painting or creating in some form or fashion. I'm thankful to my parents for encouraging me even as a young child when I'm sure my "art" could barely even be called that. After debating between choosing a "practical" college major, I finally settled on a double major in Studio Art and Advertising/Marketing Communication. These were the fundamental elements in my Artist's story.

I hosted my first Solo Exhibition, At World's End, in October 2018 which highlighted the idea of an “End” because I want us to critically ask ourselves what’s important and why can’t we live that now.

I would love for you to join me on my journey as I continue to learn and grow through creating more art and participating in more events.

Jewelry

Jewelry making is another passion of mine that I've been doing for over 15 years. Primarily I create using bead work but will be expanding to metalwork for more variety of pieces. I seldom create multiples of a piece of jewelry, so if you see something you like, get it before it's gone.

Painting

When it comes to painting, my preferred medium is either oil paint or acrylic paint. I tend to paint natural objects like flowers, butterflies, and landscapes or abstract subjects that are focused on color play. I'm always growing and expanding to try other techniques and styles, so keep an eye out for new works!

Drawing

Most of the drawings you will see here consist of charcoal or graphite on paper though you'll probably come across a few mixed media pieces here as well. Unlike my paintings, I like to play with the simple contrast of black and white to bring out the subjects of each work when I'm drawing.
